Use Case Description

The basic format for writing a use case description is a rather systematic process.  You don't have to follow any specific format but it is encouraged that you include sufficient information for a developer to know exactly what that use case is supposed to accomplishment.  With that noted it's important to realize that a use case description's audience is the developer.  The basic fields that you could include in a use case description are the following:
Use Case Name:
Scenario:
Triggering Event
Brief Description
Actors
Related Use Cases
Stakeholders
Preconditions
Postconditions
Flow of Events
Exception Conditions.


To write a use case description it is assumed that you have some experience with use cases and knowledge about what they are and what they are for.  With these basic ideas and some practice you'll be pro at use case description.
